 500,000 Covishield vaccines arrive in Sri Lanka

The Air India flight carrying  500,000  doses of the Covishield-AstraZeneca vaccine arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport a short while ago.

The doses will be accepted by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa himself, The High Commissioner of India, Gopal Bagley was present at the occasion.

The vaccine, which was invented in Oxford, Great Britain, is mass-produced by the Serum Institute in India.
